Letters for Parents
Message to Year 13 Students
Dear students,
We hope you are getting on well during these difficult and uncertain times. A-level results will still be released on Thursday 13th August. For those of you who have applied to university, you can rest assured that offers will be honoured and you will be informed through Track in the usual way. If you are unsure what recent announcements mean for your application, including your offers, you can find more information on ucas.com. You must make sure that you keep your e-mail address up to date on Track as that is the e-mail UCAS uses to let you know if you have been affected by any of these announcements. UCAS is also working with the Higher Education sector to enhance the support being offered and have recently:
- created dedicated pages on ucas.com to provide students with the latest updates: https://www.ucas.com/
coronavirus - teamed up with Student Minds to offer information and advice to help with a range of related issues: https://www.ucas.com/
undergraduate/after-you-apply/ coronavirus-covid-19/looking- after-your-mental-health-and- wellbeing - given students the chance to speak to current undergraduates through Unibuddy on ucas.com.
- organised university and college virtual open days.
For those of you who need it, Clearing will still be available as planned from 6th July.
In the meantime, I suggest that you go onto the website or contact your firm and insurance choice universities or colleges to ask for a reading list which you can use to help prepare yourself for your course, subject to the limitations of social distancing.
Kindest regards,
Dr Keith Varty and Mrs Cherry Shacklady
