WJEC Level 1/Level 2 GCSE in French
What will I learn?
This course will help you to:
- develop understanding of the language in a variety of contexts
- develop knowledge of the language and language learning skills
- develop the ability to communicate effectively in the language
- develop awareness and understanding of countries and communities where the language is spoken
The content that will be studied will cover the following broad contexts:
Identity and culture; Wales and the World-areas of interest: Current and future study and employment
How will I learn?
Students will consolidate and extend their knowledge and use of the language by practising the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in class.
We intend to organise a visit to Paris.
What will I need?
No specific requirement is needed. The course builds upon the study of French in Key Stage 3.
How will I be assessed?
There are four components. Each one is tiered ( Higher/ Foundation) and externally assessed.
Listening: 20%,Speaking:30 %,Reading:20 %,Writing( Coursework):30 %
What happens after this course?
Students with adequate grades can continue their study of French at AS and A levels.

What will I learn?
This course will help you to:

- develop awareness and understanding of countries and communities where the language is spoken
The content that will be studied will cover the following broad contexts:
Identity and culture; Wales and the World-areas of interest: Current and future study and employment
How will I learn?
Students will build and extend their knowledge and use of the language by practising the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in class.
What will I need?
No specific requirement is needed. However, as no Spanish has been previously learnt, students who intend to choose Spanish must be committed to hard work and aim at high standards.
How will I be assessed?
